Effective Purpose, Lasting Footprint

Be careful who you look up to. Be careful who and what you soak in. Be careful who or what fills your soul. Be careful of the energy you open yourself up to. Remember, you are here for a purpose, for a reason! Think well and live a life that pays off in the end, for you and for others. I encourage you to look up to God for power from within in order to have an effective purpose and an everlasting footprint in this lifetime, one that will continue to change lives for the better long after you would have taken your last breath.  Looking up to Him gives us power not just for ourselves but for others. In fact, you must take care of yourself before you are able to take care of others. In Him we are built from within so that we can believe in ourselves and better ourselves in the truest way. In the process we develop a longing, a thirst, a hunger, to share the lasting love, joy, peace, and healing energy He bestows upon us, with other people.

It is not about being self-righteous, but about allowing our character to be sculpted within by letting God use what I call His “daily chiselers” to refine and mold us, to rid us of that which is unkind and unhealthy within and about us. Our daily chiselers are people and situations that God uses to build us from deep within our souls, minds and spirits. It is not a surface thing; we are being built from the inside to love ourselves and others in a lasting way in order to make a positive impact. The process will never stop. We are always faced with circumstances that test us and take us to the next level to achieve better character and better love towards one’s self, and greater love towards fellow human beings; that is, if we allow the work to be done within us, and if we take full responsibility for our own lives, choices, decisions and actions.

In the end, though it might appear too slow, it does pay off, because there is a place, a height where one’s spirit can reach, where we still feel the emotional and mental pain, but it can no longer have absolute control over us, our character or our actions.  We realize that at some point in our lives, as lonely and agonizing as it can get, in order to be the best that we can be and in order to get to know our unique individual selves, we must work from within to transform into our better selves not only for our own sake, but to leave a lasting positive effect on humanity. In that realm, and that space, we must dig deep and find out who we have become, who we will choose to be, and who we should be. Who you want to be is a personal choice; no one else can make that decision for you.

My deepest moments in my walk with God have been when I have felt alone and lonely, and in those moments He gave me power to love myself and be secure in His creating me for a purpose.  That is the whole point of spirituality—to achieve, attain and accomplish what you cannot in your natural state and human form, for yourself and for others, through God. Allow Him to build you, from within, for a lasting positive effect. At the end of the day who we are, what we become, and how we treat others will be determined by our spiritual foundation, or lack thereof. It will determine our footprint on this earth. Who do you look up  to for a positive, lasting and effective footprint?
